About Me

Sara at Marina in White Tank

Hi, I’m Sara Keelan, a freelance writer and passionate adventurer.

Born and raised in Butler, PA, I’ve always found my best stories by stepping outside.

I’m a proud graduate of Penn State Harrisburg, where I earned my degree in Journalism. For years, I honed my craft as an editor for an educational company, but I’ve since traded the office for the freedom of freelancing, where I get to cover everything from in-depth investigative pieces to lifestyle and travel articles.

My life philosophy is to seek out new experiences, big and small, and to share them with the world.

I truly believe that every moment is worth cherishing.

Beyond the Adventures

Here’s a little more about me—what keeps me moving, where my mind wanders, and what I’m working toward when I’m not on the road.

  • Home is Where the Heart Is: You’ll find me musing on my home state of Pennsylvania as much as I muse about my travels abroad. There’s always a new local story to tell.
  • On the Horizon: This year, I’m determined to get a 10-point buck. I’m also planning to solo sail to Bermuda. Big goals, but you have to live life to the fullest, right?
  • The Ultimate Summer Goal: My sights are set on having a four-pack of abs ready for beach time next summer. Wish me luck!
